Very few coaches like to play a game without a practice the day before a big game, especially against a team like Port Charlotte. The Pirates edged the Bulldogs 3-2 in their first meeting at Port Charlotte and the Bulldogs were excited about the Oct. 7 rematch on their home court.

“I was watching the films from our first match and they (Port Charlotte) had improved quite a bit from the first time we met them. I know we had too, so I was expecting a good match,” coach Laura White said. “I think when I show them the films of the game I’m going to slow it down about three speeds. That’s how we looked tonight in our transitions and defense. We just didn’t do well.”
