ENGLEWOOD — Venice High School handed the Lemon Bay girls tennis team its first loss of the season while keeping its own record unblemished.

The Indians (4-0) beat the Manta Rays 5-2 on Friday. After close singles competition Venice led Lemon Bay 3-2. But the Indians’ Michaela Migremi and Ansley Rice teamed to beat the Mantas’ Linda Antonova and Jessica Lown 8-5 at No. 1 doubles, and Sophia Gasca and Emme Zastempowski beat Maddie Casad and Andrea Vorlicek 8-2.
