Lady Bulldogs finish second in district

The 2012-2013 DeSoto County Lady Bulldogs are District 4A runners-up and have another trophy to put in the trophy case. Members of the team are: McKayla Jeter, Shelbie Bennett, Yasmine Perry, Tishonna Riley, Coach Joe Davis, Bianca Robinson, Mariah Noble, Amelia Hamilton and assistant coach Darby Ellis. DeSoto County’s Amelia Hamilton stops and pops a pair of points in the district semifinal 50-30 win against Avon Park. Hamilton has led the Bulldogs with 29 points in the two playoff games. The Bulldogs will play their first regional game tonight in Tampa at 7 p.m.

It wasn’t hard to find something good about DeSoto County’s 55-47 loss in the district championship game to Lake Placid last Friday night.

The players had given everything they had in the game which is all they could have asked for. Yet the tears flowed from the tired faces of our Lady Bulldogs. Some were able to contain them, most couldn’t hold them back.
