Jeanne C. Van Lydegraf

Jeanne C. Van Lydegraf, 89, of Lake Suzy, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012.

She was born Nov. 5, 1922, in Plymouth, Mass.

Jeanne was proud to serve her country as a Sergeant with U.S. Marine Corps Women’s Reserve “Company E,” 2nd Hq Bn Henderson Hall in Arlington, Va., during World War II, from 1943 until 1945. She moved to Florida with her husband,Dean in 1980 from Fort Lee, Va. They settled in Lake Suzy in 1997. Jeanne enjoyed the beach and shopping.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle M. Maker; and son, Leigh “Rusty” Van Lydegraf, both of Lake Suzy. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Dean Van Lydegraf.

Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements are by National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte, Fla.
