Donny Teague, 65, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, in Arcadia, Fla.

He was born Sept. 16, 1947, in Owensboro, Ky., and moved to Arcadia as a small child with his family.

Donny is of the Baptist faith and attended New Day Baptist Church of Arcadia. He will be remembered by his family as a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and brother, and will be missed by them very much. Donny’s working career was spent as a Corrections Officer, and most recently for GEO. He served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran. Donny’s favorite pastime was fishing; he also enjoyed working on old cars, shooting pool and playing Internet poker.

Donny is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Patty Daughtrey Teague of Arcadia; sons, Tim D. Teague and Isaiah Teague, both of Arcadia; daughters, Annette M. (Rodney) Reel of Arcadia, Kim D. (Robert) Hernandez of Lake Wales, Fla., and Melissa K. Teague and Tiffany N. Anderson, both of Arcadia; brother, Edward Teague of Arcadia; sisters, Jewel Salazar of California, and Elta Johnston, Mary Griffin and Patty Greene, all of Arcadia; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Price Bailey and Maydoll Mathis Teague.

A visitation of family and friends will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at the chapel, with the Rev. Ken Galloway officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Arcadia.
