Samuel Q. Reynolds Jr.

Samuel Q. Reynolds Jr., 82, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, in Arcadia.

He was born Dec. 6, 1929, in Arcadia.

Samuel retired as an aircraft mechanic for Pan American Airlines after 30 years, of faithful service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. Samuel was the recipient of two Purple Hearts awarded him for his service to his country. He left Arcadia in the early 1950’s, after the war to begin his career with Pan AM. Samuel returned to Arcadia in 1996. He loved fishing, hunting, watching football, and spending quality time with his family. Samuel was a member of the Korean War Brotherhood, and the Fort Ogden United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Monteal Reynolds of Tamarac, Fla., Sheila (Darrell) Smith of Louisiana; son, James (Sunny) Reynolds of Greenacres, Fla.; brother, John (Forrest) Reynolds of Nocatee, Fla.; sister, June Fulton of Ft. Ogden, Fla.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a long time companion, Mrs. Edna Dees of Arcadia.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., today Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at the Ft. Ogden United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m., with Pastor Neal Avariti officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, in the Biloxi National Cemetery of Biloxi, Miss. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Ft.
