Joy to the world via songs and memories

I can’t say or sing anything about the weather outside being frightful since we live here in beautiful, sunny southwest Florida. I see snowmen all around town, but of course they are of the inflatable variety. Strange how so much hot air can lead to snowmen, isn’t it? I would “let it snow, let it snow, let it snow” if it were possible, just to enjoy a different kind of Christmas.

I pretty much have a “silent night” each and every evening, since I’m the last house on a dead-end dirt road near the cemetery. However, a few other holidays prove to be quite the opposite, especially the Fourth of July and New Year’s Eve. That’s when all sorts of fireworks go off all around, and I’m not too sure that some of them aren’t discharged from shotguns. A gang war could be going on a block away and I’d never have a clue until I saw the yellow crime scene tape.
