• County schools will open Monday morning to admit an estimated 3,900 public school students. A new high school building, 20 new teachers, a new high school principal and some switching around in administration promise to make the first school day a mixture of the strange and familiar. At the recently built DeSoto High School, Bernard DePaul of Pennsylvania will be at the helm, assisted by Adrian Cline who moved into the assistant principal’s job following time spent with the school system as an English teacher. DeSoto High students will be given maps their first day to help them navigate through the maze of hallways.
