1920:

• An excerpt from the 1973 Arcadian copying from a 1920 issue: “M.B. Mizell, better known in DeSoto County as ‘Bone’ Mizell, left Tuesday for Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was accompanied on this trip by A.C. Williams and Cary C. Carlton. Mr. Mizell has been in the stock business in Florida all his life and never been near the border line. This is his first trip out of state. He is an old bachelor, a Democrat, marriageable. Before leaving he made a purchase of a complete paraphernalia and expects to demonstrate to Williams and Carlton how a good-looking old bachelor should impress the ladies of the north. He was so enthusiastic about the over the trip that he said he wanted to do a little stump speaking for Cox and Roosevelt, and Mr. Carlton assured him there would be no difficulty in arranging for the campaign committee to use him in their convention. Messrs. Mizell, Carlton, and Williams will be gone about a month and will take the full course of baths at Hot Springs.”
