Don’t make assumptions buying trip insurance

Purchasing trip insurance doesn’t always ensure peace of mind. Just ask Jane Recine.

The 80-year-old Punta Gorda resident booked two Delta airline tickets with American Express Travel from Fort Myers to New York in February 2012 so she and her husband could visit their granddaughter in May. The tickets were a little over $600. At checkout, she opted to buy trip insurance offered for about $60.
