Mt. Zion event celebrates survivors

Ernestine Simons organized the Women's Fellowship "Fighting Back," held Saturday at Mt. Zion AME Church. The event commemorated those who had lost their battles with cancer, celebrated those who had won, and enlightened women about cancer and domestic violence issues.

McJulius Davis, Juanita Davis, Shakena Burroughs, Angela Davis, Rashika Davis, Bob Jones, Emma Davis, and in the wagon, Nykeria and Nyan Burroughs-White celebrate "Fighting Back" against cancer at Mt. Zion AME Church Saturday. The event, organized by Ernestine Simons, recognized those whom cancer claimed as victims and honored those who survived their battles.
