County recognizes 4-H program
The DeSoto Board of County Commissioners presented a proclamation to the county's 4-H Club declaring the week of Oct. 6-12 as National 4-H Week.
As part of the celebration for National 4-H week, the DeSoto Board of County Commissioners signed a proclamation declaring Oct. 6-12 as National 4-H Week in DeSoto. The proclamation was presented to the county’s 4-H extension agent, Kristie Popa, who accepted the document along with several 4-H members in attendance.
“I can tell you from the years of experience with 4-H I had as the county’s extension agent, Kristie has a very demanding job, and there is no such thing as a 40-hour work week for any 4-H agent,” Commissioner Jim Selph said. “We greatly appreciate what you do, and know what important life skills the 4-H program teaches.”
