ARCADIA — Former City Finance Director Jorge Santana filed a laswuit against the city of Arcadia and its Administrator, Judi Jankosky. The suit seeks unspecified damages in excess of $15,000.

The lawsuit Feb. 4 was filed under the Civil Rights Act and the Florida Whistle-Blower’s Act. The suit claims Santana was wrongfully fired from the city because he spoke up in defense of former City Administrator Lawrence Miller during a city council meeting. The suit states Santana told council that firing Miller would “move Arcadia backwards.”
