Wanted: foster families
Betty Coone has fostered so many children over 22 years that she can’t even remember how many she’s really had come through her home. A retired city of Arcadia employee, Coone has helped kids from all cultures and all races, from newborns to school age, and each one has made an impression on her life in more ways than she can name.
She stepped down from her role as a foster parent recently because she’s hoping to put most of her attention on her newly arrived grandkids, but she still looks back on her time as a foster parent with a mix of love and sadness, because she knows how important it is to take care of the kids that seemingly no one wants.
