The four-person Community Services Team started up November 12, 2012, and has the goal of improving quality of life in Bartow through intensive and personalized service to residents and businesses. The Bartow Police Department’s newest unit, the Community Services Team, has a mission of improving the quality of life in Bartow, often taking on tasks that require time and attention not normally available in police work.
When Police Chief Joe Hall noticed that a lot of the department’s complaints were in areas that the patrol unit did not have the time to deal with, he decided that a community-based police unit, which could network with other city departments to get things done, might be the solution.
