Plenn Aire art

David Kent captures the alleyway across the street from his perch in front of The Polk County Democrat newspaper building. He is engaged in a style of painting called Plenn Aire, which means painting a scene while conditions change, such as shadows creeping onto the scene.

A day mixed with clouds and sun, balmy temperature, and camaraderie. It’s a winning combination, as Scott West and David Kent could tell you.

The two of them were busy this past Saturday as they sat in front of The Polk County Democrat newspaper building, painting. They were engaged in a form of painting called Plenn Aire.
