Stratton named manager/player on Team USA Softball

Don Stratton from Bartow has been selected as the manager/Player of Team USA for the Celtic Softball Tour of Ireland and Scotland. The team is comprise of players through out the United states.

Team Members are Bobby Davis of Florida, Bill Curry of Massachusetts, Dan Minnick of California, Jim Hansen of California, John Fornier of California, Dale Myers of Washington, Chuck Towne of Texas, Pat Bidelman of Florida, Bill Gorman of California, Rick Schiliro of South Carolina and John Redner of California

The team went to Boston on June 17 and will have practice games at the Limerick University in in Shannon, Ireland.

On Saturday, June 22 they travel to Dublin to participate in a tournament with Irish and German Senior Teams.

On Sunday they are scheduled to play Germany.

The team then moves on to Edinburg for the 26th and 27th for games against Scottish Teams.

It returns home on June 29.

Stratton, who serves as the CEO of the Independent Softball has made trips to Mexico and Cuba with the USA teams. He said it is an honor to represent the USA and to introduce USA softball around the world.
