On Tuesday, April 2, the Lady Jackets faced the Lake Region Thunder and coming off an impressive come from behind victory at the Fifth Annual Tournament of Champions, Bartow was looking to even the score as the Thunder had defeated them 2-0 earlier in the season. Chelsea King got the nod on the mound for Bartow. The Thunder bats came alive from the get go as they plated two runs on three hits in the top of the first. In the second inning it was much the same as the Thunder again managed three hits adding two more runs giving them a
4-0 lead.

The Thunder was done for the night as Bartow Coach Glenn Rutenbar inserted Lauren West into the game in the second and she faced 19 batters striking out 13.

The Jackets hitters were all cold until the seventh inning when Cheyenne Blaha drew a walk then Tonee Fabrizi drove a double to put Blaha on third and her on second when Lexi Sims knocked them both in. The two hits were it for the night for Bartow as Lake Region recorded a 4-2 victory.

On Wednesday the Jackets traveled to Bradenton to face the third-ranked Braden River Pirates. This time the lady bugs brought their bats with them as they had 14 hits in a 7-2 victory.

Alexis Mace paced the way with an impressive 3-for-3 night, while Brianah Greene, Stefaini Walls, Rachael Imig, and Deean Davis all contributed two hits and Cheyenne Blaha, Tonee Fabrizi and Lexi Sims all added a hit. Lauren West pitched five innings allowing two hits while striking out eight batters. Emily Delldonne pitched the sixth inning and Brooke Farrer finished out the seventh.

Bartow improved to 19-2 with the following games still remaining until the districts.

Monday, April 8, 7 p.m. at Auburndale

Thursday, April 11, 7 p.m. Mulberry at Bartow

Friday, April 12, 7 p.m., senior night, Lake Wales at Bartow

The District is scheduled for April 15-19. Bartow will go in as the number 2 seeded team.
