On Friday March 8 the Bartow Lady Jackets pounded out 13 hits, scoring 14 runs to defeat the Lakeland High School Dreadnaughts.
Bartow got started in the bottom of the first inning as Deean Davis tripled drown the left field line. Cheyenne Blaha then singled in Davis and then Tonee Fabizi blasted one over the center field fense to give the Jackets a 3-0 lead.
The Jackets struck again in the third with hits from Davis, Blaha, Lexi Sims, Taylor Pittman, Mackenzie Brown and Brittany Meadows to put up eight more runs making the score 11-0.
The Jackets added three more in the inning as Sims, Rachael Inig, Taylor Sturgil and Brown all chipped in with hits. Brown had four RBI for the night while Davis, Fabrizi, and Sims all had two RBIs and Blaha, Chelsea King, Pittman and Meadows all added one each.
Bartow played at Lake Region last night and will host Haines City Friday.

Emily Delldonne, 4.0 GPA, pitcher, daughter of Pat and Ken Delldonne
Emily has been on the varsity for two years.
What would you like to study/do after high school: Emily would like to go to FSU to study biology and either become a meteorologist or marine biologist.
Best Moment or memory: Eating meals with her team before the playoff games.
Comments from Coach Rutenbar: She is also one of our pitchers. Emily moved up to the varsity after her freshmen JV season. She went 3-0 last year on the varsity as a sophomore.
Chelsea King, 3.2 GPA, pitcher/designated hitter, daughter of Cathy and Doug King
Chelsea transferred from George Jenkins High in Lakeland.
What would you like to study/do after high school: Chelsea wants to major in the medical field and specialize in the labor and delivery of babies.
Best Moment or memory: The recent game against George Jenkins and all the support from the community and the stands being packed cheering on the team.
Comments from Coach Rutenbar: This is her first season at Bartow after transferring from GJ. As a pitcher, Chelsea has not given up an earned run this year in 19 1⁄3 innings while going 3-0. Chelsea has also done a good job with the bat in limited plate appearances.
Brianah Green, 2.8 GPA, outfielder, daughter of Melissa and Keelan Green.
Brianah transferred from George Jenkins. She attends Polk Collegiate High School.
What would you like to study after high school: Brianah would like to become a pediatric nurse practitioner.
Best Moment or memory: The games and seeing the stands packed.
Comments from Coach Rutenbar: Brianah is also in her first season at Bartow after transferring from GJ. Brianah is a part-time starter for us right now in the outfield.
Brooke Farrer, 3.7 GPA, pitcher, daughter of Jennett and Greg Farrer
Brooke has been on the varsity for two years. She currently has a 3-0 record.
Comments from Coach Rutenbar: She is one of our pitchers. Brooke was on the varsity as a sophomore and has really shown improvement. She has only given up one earned run in 17 1⁄3 innings this year and has a 3-0 record.
Taylor Pittman, 3.5 GPA, first base/designated hitter, daughter of Melissa and Mark Pittman
Taylor has been on Varsity for two years.
Comments from Coach Rutenbar: Taylor is our starting DH this year while last year she was a part-time starter. Taylor has good power and is starting to swing the bat better for us right now.
Stefani Walls, 2.6 GPA, first base, daughter of Tina and Steve Walls
Moved back to Bartow from Indiana.
Comments from Coach Rutenbar: This is her first season after moving back to Bartow from Indiana. She is our starting first basemen, which is a new position for her and she is currently hitting close to .400.
Delaney Wright, 3.5 GPA, outfielder, daughter of Dee Dee and David Wright
Delaney has moved up to the varsity this year. She attends Polk Collegiate High School.
Comments from Coach Rutenbar: Delaney is a back up outfielder for us this year. She played on the JV team her freshmen and sophomore years.
Deean Davis, 3.8 GPA, second base, daughter of Sue and Delton Davis
Deean has been on the varsity for three years.
Comments from Coach Rutenbar: Deean has been our starting second basemen the last two years while she was a part-time outfielder her freshmen year on the varsity. She is our leadoff hitter this year. Deean is a key player because of her speed.
