Pfeiffer gets two
firsts in senior games

In Saturday’s Senior Games competition in Lakeland, Bartow’s Bob Pfeiffer finished in a place in four track and field categories.

In the shot put competition Pfeiffer, competing in the 55-59 year old age group, finished first with a throw of 25 feet 10.5 inches. He beat Seth Tidwell of Tidy, Texas, by two inches.

In the high jump, Pfeiffer tied for first with Jerry Repelato of Hunstville, Ala., with a jump of 4 feet, 10 inches.

In the long jump, Pfeiffer was second with a jump of 12 feet ½-inch. First place went to Daniel Miller of Palmetto who had a distance of 13 feet, 1.25 inches.

In the javelin competition, Pfeiffer earned a sixth place finish with a distance of 98 feet, 11 inches.

Also, in the javelin competition, William Harbee finished fifth in the 60-64 year old category with a distance of 106 feet 8 inches.

The 2012 Senior Games and State Championships wrapped up its nine-day competition Sunday.
