There have been several
reported vehicle battery thefts throughout the city, according to an alert from the Bartow Police Department.

It appears that other law enforcement agencies within Polk County are experiencing this trend. Not just vehicles are at risk, thieves are also taking batteries from other motorized machinery such as diesel pumps, powered road signs, etc., police report.
