Traffic was slowed down for about 30 minutes Thursday after a traffic wreck at the intersection of U.S. 17 and State Road 60. Here a truck owned by F.W. Zimmerman carrying a concrete pole from Yeehaw Junction is being set to be towed away.
Two people were taken to Bartow Regional Medical Center after a wreck at the intersection of U.S. 17 and Van Fleet Drive Thursday morning.
Though no one was seriously injured in the wreck, the 2003 Toyota Corolla that hit a Peterbilt truck carrying a pipe was totaled. The wreck slowed traffic at the busy intersection for about 30 minutes between 11:30 a.m. and noon; as the wreck was cleaned up the Bartow Police officers directed traffic. Both the Corolla and the truck had to be towed from the scene.
