Marjorie Floyd Cleveland of Bartow, Fla., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 15,
2012, at the age of 90 due to Alzheimer’s disease.
She died at home where she was surrounded by her loving family.
Born Aug. 12, 1922, in London England, she resided in Britain until the late 1950s when she moved to the United States.
Most of her professional career was spent as a registered nurse, dutifully serving during World War II and continuing in the occupation once coming to the United States.
She was employed by Dr. Clyde Gibson in Bartow for many years and also later owned and operated her own daycare in Bartow for nearly a decade. Marjorie lived as a devout Christian woman and was a member of the United Church of God, where she was heavily involved.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting and crocheting, and listening to the opera.
She was preceded in death by husband, Cecil Cleveland, and is survived by four children, daughters, Jo Ann Myers and husband, Jerry; Edna Maynard with husband, Ray; and twin sons, Ray and Frank with his wife, Kathy; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held by the family at a future date yet to be determined.
