You can sleep in an extra hour today before coming to visit the Library today. We will not be able to open until 10 a.m. due to the Blarney Triathlon being held in the Moasaic Park.

The Bartow Public Library is going to the dogs, again. Come meet the newest addition to our Paws to Read program, Shelby of Therapy Dogs, International. Shelby is a Great Dane with a love of reading that matches her large size. Read aloud to her and receive a free book. Shelby will be in the Children’s Department today and the third Saturday of every month from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

There is an assault being launched on Earth and it is up to the Immortal Guardians to team up to protect the innocence of children all around the world in “Rise of the Guardians.” It is being shown today at 2:30 p.m. It is rated PG and is 97 minutes long.

The Polk Works Mobile One-Stop Bus will be outside our library from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Tuesday. The unit allows individuals to search for jobs online, prepare resumes and submit applications for open positions. All Polk Works services are free . The Mobile One-Stop unit has a full computer lab to assist job-seekers. For information call 863-508-1100.

Our story times will be returning on Wednesday for the 3-5 year olds at 10 a.m. Thursday will begin Book Babies for 18 months to 2 years at 10 a.m.

Our Mad Science program this Thursday will have an Easter theme. Our “Air Science” project will be The Incredible Growing Marshmallow Peep. Space is limited and we need to guarantee enough supplies, so please pre-register. The program will begin at 4:30 p.m.

A number of patrons have been inquiring about tax help here at the library. We are happy to announce that it will be available Friday, March 22 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and it is free. There is no age limit, or limit on earnings and you do not need to have an AARP membership. Call the library and ask to speak to Roxann to schedule your appointment.
