Come enjoy a movie today, but please don’t wreck the building. We will be showing the new Disney flick, “Wreck-It Ralph.” Ralph is a video game villain who wants to change his destroying ways and become a hero. This movie is rated PG and lasts 108 minutes.
Computer classes are returning to the library.
The library will host a series of classes over six weeks covering basic computer skills. Each Monday from 1-3 p.m. a class will have hands-on experience with using computers, with nine spots open for registration with two additional spots for attendees bringing their own laptops. Call or sign up at the circulation desk today. Classes begin March 11.
Our Friends of the Library sponsored series is back. Bring your lunch and join us this Tuesday at noon for another one of our fabulous Brown Bag Lunch concerts. Water and soft drinks will be provided by the lovely ladies of the Friends.
The wild and wacky world of Dr. Seuss makes reading fun. This month is his birthday, so join us Tuesday at 4 p.m. as we celebrate all things Seuss. Learn how Dr. Seuss got his start, hear one of your favorite stories, make a Cat in the Hat puppet, play some games, and if you are really brave, try some green eggs and ham. In order to have enough materials and refreshments for everyone, pre-registration is required. Call the library or stop by the Circulation Desk to sign up.
Let the madness begin … Sports fan or not, teens are welcome to join us for a bit of Wii excitement to honor the busiest month for basketball. The program is Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided for our hard working athletes.
The Bartow Public Library is going to the dogs, again. Come meet the newest addition to our Paws to Read program — Shelby of Therapy Dogs, International. Shelby is Great Dane with a love of reading that matches her large size. Read aloud to her and receive a free book. Shelby will be in the Children’s Department the third Saturday of every month from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
If you can’t make the movie today, we have another opportunity for you next week. We will be showing “Rise of the Guardians” at 2:30 p.m. It is rated PG and is 97 minutes long.
