“Chill out” with us this afternoon as we show Ice Age: Continental Drift at the library. The show will begin at
2:30 p.m. It runs for 88 minutes and
is rated PG.
Tuesday will mark the return of the Polk Works Mobile One-Stop Bus. It will be outside our library from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The unit allows for individuals to search for jobs online, prepare resumes and submit applications for open positions. Jan. 18 is Pooh Day, the birthday of Pooh’s creator A.A. Milne. We plan to celebrate it a little early. Bring your favorite stuffed bear and help us celebrate. Learn how Pooh came to be, make a party hat, play “Sting the Bee” and “Pin the Tail on Eeyore” and watch a Pooh cartoon. Refreshments will be served. The program will be Tuesday, Jan. 15 from 4-5:30 p.m. and is designed for 6-8 year olds.
Join us for story times this week with Miss Melissa. Wednesday at 10 a.m., for 3-5 year olds, is a winter themed story time complete with stories, finger plays, music and films.
Thursday at 10 a.m., for 18 months to 2 years, is Book Babies featuring nursery rhymes, finger plays, music and bubbles.
Any teens feeling down now that school has started back? Come Thursday afternoon to watch “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days.” The movie beings at 4:30 p.m. and refreshments will be served.
The mad scientists are back at it. This month is Blubber Science. Experimenting will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. This program is designed for 9-12 year olds and we do ask that you pre-register.
Please keep in mind we will be closed Saturday, Jan. 19 and Monday, Jan. 21 in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. We will re-open Tuesday at 9 a.m.
