Happy New Year from the Bartow Public Library. We trust everyone had a safe and joyous holiday.
Our attention here has shifted from celebration to that of tax season. Yes, it is that time again. Come one, come all to get your tax forms. The IRS has been a bit pokey with getting us all of them, so we only have a limited supply right now and not every form is available.
For those who were not aware, all tax forms can be downloaded and printed for free from www.irs.gov. The forms we receive will be placed in the lobby as they come in. Feel free to call us to check on what might be available.
If you are going to be stopping in to pick up or print off tax forms this week, why not do it on Tuesday at noon? We will be having our Brown Bag Concert Series performers back. Students from Bartow High will be here to put on an excellent music program. Feel free to bring your lunch and we will provide the drinks. The program begins at noon and generally lasts an hour. This is perfect for you whether you’re retired or just needing a short break from the office.
Kids go back to school this week and that means our story times return. Wednesday at 10 a.m., for 3-5 year olds, is a winter themed story time complete with stories, finger plays, music and films. Thursday at 10 a.m., for 18 months to 2 years, is Book Babies featuring nursery rhymes, finger plays, music and bubbles.
Receive a new piece of technology for Christmas and not quite sure how to use it? Or do you already know how to use your eReader but want to learn about downloading books for free? Our tech interns will be here Wednesday afternoon from 3-5 p.m. Call or come in to schedule a one on one appointment with these tech savvy folks.
“Chill out” next Saturday afternoon as we show Ice Age: Continental Drift at the library. The show begins at 2:30 p.m.. It runs for 88 minutes and is rated PG.
