The Crickette, Bartow and Kiwanis clubs paid $5,000 for the sculpture, Growing Seasons, which they donated to the city for Fort Blount Park. The plan is to have it put into place on Feb. 28.
A new addition will be coming to Fort Blount Park this spring. Thanks to the inspiration and efforts of Michell Githens and the Bartow Crickette Club, a sculpture, “Growing Seasons,” will be erected in the northeast corner of Fort Blount Park.
Githens made a presentation to city commissioners at its Tuesday, Jan. 22 regular meeting. It capped nearly a year of research and effort. According to Githens, every year the Crickettes determine a project to embark upon, something that will benefit Bartow as a whole and the sculpture was it for this year.
