Commissioners OK rewording easement

In both the City of Bartow work session, and then in the regular meeting, the matter of an easement the city entered into more than 50 years ago came before commissioners.

In 1951, Tampa Electric Company acquired land off Wilson Avenue, which it used for the construction of power towers. It had purchased the property from Independent Chemical. TECO then entered into a second agreement, this one with the City of Bartow. That agreement allowed the city to piggyback, plus gave the city to construct a right-of-way; essentially, build a road.
